“Winkie has finally moved to the general ward this afternoon. He still remains on 1 drip and is receiving antibiotics 3x daily through his IV. He’s eating solid food now, but his wound (incision) still looks really bad. They are going to depend a lot more on Mom and I from here onwards for Dad’s care and monitoring and have asked us to be there from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. over the next two days. Coming out of ICU means that the hospital costs will not mount so quickly now. We expect to have an idea of where we stand with the hospital in terms of finances in the next few days. Many thanks to those who have been praying and giving so sacrificially. We are amazed at all that God is doing. At some point we think that Dad will need to go back to New Zealand for further care and recovery, but we don’t know yet when any of that will happen. So many people are praying, helping and giving. We can’t even find words to express our deep thanks to everyone. Thank you all so much! We are tired, but our hearts are full.
Prayer Points:
Please pray for strength for Mom and I as we assume more responsibility for Winkie’s care and that God protects our health during this time.
Please pray that Winkie’s healing will continue to progress quickly and be complete and especially that his incisions will heal properly.
Please pray that God will provide wisdom for us and that we will be able to point the way to Jesus while we are here.
Please pray that God will help us as we work to understand and communicate in this culture. The Koreans are such a wonderful people and we are so thankful for all the care and love we have received from them.” Posted by Israel Anderson
